SUMMARY:Painting Diwali Diyas
DESCRIPTION:Diyas [De-ah] are a form of clay lanterns used across India\, n
ot only to light our religious alters but to light our homes and public sp
aces during Diwali- the Festival of Lights. These lights indicate that goo
d prevails over evil and that a period of peace is coming. Workshop partic
ipants will receive a brief history lesson on what Diwali is\, the story b
ehind it\, and how it is celebrated across the Indian diaspora (in India a
nd around the world). Afterward\, participants will be guided on different
ways to paint their Diyas and shown how to light them at home.\n\nDetails
