SUMMARY:Painting Diwali Diyas
DESCRIPTION:Diyas [De-ah] are a form of clay lanterns used across India\, n
ot only to light our religious alters but to light our homes and public sp
aces during Diwali\, the Festival of Lights. These lights indicate that go
od prevails over evil and that a period of peace is coming. Workshop parti
cipants will receive a brief history lesson on what Diwali is\, the story
behind it\, and how it is celebrated across the Indian diaspora (in India
and around the world). Afterward\, participants will be guided on differen
t ways to paint their Diyas and shown how to light them at home.\n\nDetail
